Following the resignation of Thomas Briggs, a statutory notice period to 28 August 2026 has commenced.

If there is no call for a by-election, a new councillor will be co-opted.

We’re focusing on keeping our beautiful parish clean and tidy, with a particular spotlight on the ongoing problem of fly-tipping and how we can all help tackle it. We’re also celebrating our fantastic local litter-picking volunteers and congratulating three Limpsfield businesses on reaching the finals of the Tandridge Business Awards.

Surrey Local Elections 7 May 2026

Local elections will take place across Surrey tomorrow, Thursday 7 May 2026. These elections are part of a major change to local government in Surrey and will not follow the usual district, borough or county format. Instead, voters will elect councillors to the two new unitary councils being created under Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).

Annual Parish Meeting – 14 May 2026, 7.30pm

You are warmly invited to this year’s Annual Parish Meeting on Thursday 14 May 2026. This year it’s the turn of St Peter’s Church Hall to host. Please arrive between 7pm and 7.30pm for prompt start at 7.30pm.

It’s a great opportunity to find out more about Local Government Reorganisation and what it means for parish councils, meet your councillors, and hear about what the Parish Council has been working on recently. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions about local issues or anything happening in the parish.

Local Government Reorganisation – What It Means for Limpsfield

The Government has now formally laid the Surrey (Structural Changes) Order, which sets out the reorganisation of local government across Surrey. This will see the abolition of Surrey County Council and all 11 district and borough councils, including Tandridge District Council, and their replacement with two new unitary authorities: East Surrey Council and West Surrey Council.
