Many of you may already know, but it is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robin Masefield CBE of Stanhopes, Limpsfield. Robin died peacefully at home last week following a short illness.
Robin and wife Rosemary only moved back to Limpsfield from Northern Ireland – where he was Head of the Northern Ireland Prison Service – relatively recently, but he very quickly made a huge impact on the local community, being a Governor at The Limpsfield Grange School, Chair of the Arts Society, a volunteer member of the Limpsfield Community Orchard, and Roaming Ranger for Friends of Limpsfield Common together with several other volunteer roles.
He also participated on Limpsfield Parish Council’s Biodiversity Round Table for the last couple of years and was a member of the Limpsfield Neighbourhood Plan Review working group.
He had so much to give to the community and will be greatly missed by all.
Rest in Peace Robin.
