Your Parish Council Needs You!
Limpsfield currently has a vacancy for a new Parish Councillor, following the resignation of Bernie de Haldevang after many years of much appreciated and valuable service to our community – Thank you Bernie!
The resignation was announced at our Annual Parish Meeting on 8 May, and following the statutory notice period, as there has been no call for a by-election, the position will now be filled by co-option.
We’re keen to hear from residents who are passionate about our local area and want to make a difference. If you are eligible to stand, and interested in representing your community, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a voluntary role, and becoming a councillor is a great way to get involved in local decision-making and help shape the future of Limpsfield. Councillors play an essential role in representing the views of residents, supporting local initiatives, and making key decisions on community priorities and spending.
A councillor’s responsibilities include:
- Attending Parish Council meetings and voting on local issues
- Representing the interests of residents and local groups
- Helping to shape policies and future plans for the parish
- Working alongside other local authorities (Surrey CC and Tandridge DC) and community bodies
The role offers real variety – one day you might be attending a council meeting, the next you could be helping resolve an issue raised by a local resident, or supporting a community event.
